So long, summer.

Labor Day weekend is the last chance to indulge in the city’s warm-weather delights, such as making a splash at the free outdoor pools, tasting many seasonal restaurant menu items, jamming to an entrancing music festival, braving rollercoaster rides in reverse, and more.

Soak these up before the joys of summer have gone.

  1. WATER WORLD

The city’s 50-plus outdoor pools close after Labor Day, as do the Cedar Grove and Wolfe’s Pond beaches on Staten Island. The rest of the city’s 14 miles of public beaches remain open until Sept. 13. Lifeguards are on duty daily between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the sandy strands, while the pool lifeguards operate between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., with early bird and night owl lap swim hours varying by pool. See nycgovparks.org for details on the swimming hole nearest you.

2. REVERSE CYCLE

Holy backwards, Batman!

This weekend is the last chance to ride the Six Flags Great Adventure Batman: The Ride in reverse.

The Jersey theme park has been running the rollercoaster backwards all summer, meaning daredevils have been flying blind through the zero-gravity roll and flipping 180 degrees.

But after Monday, the ride will return to its regular, forward route, so strap yourself in for this added adrenaline rush while you still can. Tix run $42.99-$69.99 in person, or save $20 by booking online at sixflags.com/greatadventure.

Several summery items will be taken off city menus after the holiday weekend, including Racines NY’s seasonal $20 Squash Blossom with lobster, morcilla and spiced carrot foam, as well as its $14 Ajo Blanco almond and garlic gazpacho with tomato sorbet, cherrie and green beans. See racinesny.com.

The Pier A Harbor House (piera.com) stops pouring its $10 End of Summer Rose Sangria this weekend. And Shake Shake (shakeshack.com) salutes the end of the season with a limited-time Labor Day weekend menu of $4.50 corn dogs and Peach Pie oh My Concretes ($4.50-$6.75) at every location, except for stadiums and airports, from Friday through Monday.

4. CULTURAL COCKTAILS

The Noguchi Museum toasts the summer’s end with its final Free First Friday evening, which includes a wine and beer cash bar and special programming from 5 to 8 p.m.

Moving forward, Friday admission will still be gratis from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but you’ll have to get your buzz on elsewhere after eyeing the works of Japanese-American artist Isamu Noguchi and the gorgeous sculpture garden. 9-01 33rd Rd., at Vernon Blvd., Queens. See noguchi.org.

5. TRANCE DANCE

There’s one last outdoor musical festival rocking the city this season: the three-day Electric Zoo that transforms Randalls Island into a rave from Friday through Sunday.

Headliners include The Chemical Brothers on Friday, Above & Beyond on Saturday, and Alesso on Sunday. Single-day passes start at $109, with remaining two-day passes beginning at $199, and remaining three-day passes starting at $299.99. See electriczoofestival.com/tickets.

6. SO LONG SAILOR

The Broadway revival of “On the Town” starring Misty Copeland is closing on Sept. 6 after its year-long run at the Lyric Theater.

The toe-tapping Tony Award-nominated showcase follows three sailors swept off their feet by three riveting NYC women during their 24-hour shore leave, and includes beloved numbers such as “New York, New York,” “Lonely Town” and “Some Other Time.” 213 W. 42nd St. See onthetownbroadway.com for tickets.

THAT’S A WRAP

There’s just a few days left to catch the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s breathtaking China: Through the Looking Glass exhibition, which has been extended through Monday. The sprawling exhibit showcasing more than 140 haute couture and avant-garde pieces explores China’s impact on Western fashion and culture, with designer looks displayed amongst Chinese costumes, paintings, ceramics and jewelry. Suggested admission is $25 adults, $12 students. 1000 Fifth Ave., at 82nd St. See metmuseum.org.

Ways To Use A Scarf

Female friends with shopping bags taking photos through mobile phone

Scarves have been, and probably always will be, a major fashion must-have throughout history and throughout the decades. They have seen more reincarnations and reinterpretations than probably any other accessory there is.

Some of us may think that scarves are a means to keep us warm in the winter months but do we know just how much potential these fashion items really are? Depending on the style of your scarf, there are probably hundreds of ways you can tie a scarf around your head, neck, shoulders, and even your body, than you ever thought possible.

Scarves can be a lifesaver on a bad hair day. A thin or cotton scarf can be folded or gathered to create a makeshift headband in a jiffy to cover flyaways or greasy, unwashed roots. Whether worn as a straight headband, or a retro Rosie the Riveter look if you tie it at the top, a headband is one of the easiest and most versatile ways to wear a scarf (and, not to mention, are always pretty useful, too!).

Neck and shoulders are some of the more go-to ways to wear scarves, especially during the fall and winter seasons. Most long scarves can be manipulated and teased into any number of styles around your neck or shoulders. By simply tying the very ends of a scarf together and looping it twice over your head, you have an infinity scarf! Aside from simply draping a scarf over your shoulders or wrapping it once around your neck (which are always perfectly great ways to wear a scarf if you choose) there are numerous other ways to do so. After conducting a simple Google search, you’ll find articles and how-to’s numbering as many as 30 or more ways to tie a scarf around your neck. There are even handfuls of informational YouTube videos showing you how to do so, step by step.

Don’t forget, scarves can be used just about anywhere. Even though it’s cold and wintry now, scarves are also great during the spring and summer. A light-weight chiffon scarf can accent any outfit well, and even when it’s far too hot, they can be tied and draped as swimsuit wraparounds or even makeshift skirts!
The possibilities are endless. Scarves are one of the most useful fashion accessories available out there. Not only do they add to any ensemble, but they serve some extremely useful purposes too.

Even though summer is slowly coming to a close, the light-weight scarves accent fall outfits very well too!

Ladies, nothing completes an outfit more than Kensie perfume! So go check out kensiefragrance!

Apply a Face Mask For Radiant, Beautiful Skin

Young woman receiving facial treatment in spa

Facial masks are a great way to reduce impurities in the face, as well as make your skin seem smoother and softer. They also help shrink pores, which further enhances your skin’s softness.

There are three main types of skin masks to choose from. Clay masks work best with oily skin, removing oil and dirt from the face. It also leaves your pores clean and makes your skin radiant. Next are paraffin masks. They are safe for all skin types. Paraffin masks work to help blood circulation in the face, as well as moisturizing and softening your skin. Finally, peel-type masks work to remove dead skin cells from the face, leaving skin looking beautiful. It’s important to check the box to make sure that the mask works with your skin type.

Before applying your mask, clean your face with your favorite facial cleanser. Make sure that your face is completely clean, and allow your face to dry. Always follow the directions for your facial mask, and don’t leave it on any longer than it needs to be. While the mask is curing, relax and try not to move your face too much because moving too much can cause the mask to crack.

When the mask has finished curing, clean your face again to remove all traces of the mask. Make sure to remove every last bit of the mask, and rinse with warm water. Next, pat your face dry. With your face clean, apply moisturizer to prevent your skin from drying out or over-producing oil.

It’s best to use masks before you apply makeup so your face can be prepared for what is coming next. It is very important to prep your skin to keep it healthy and glowing.

Along with a flawless face, you should try our Kenise fragrance to end your glam up session with a kick.  Look great with a confident and flirty scent!

7 Trendy Up Hairstyles to Try Out

Woman brushing hair

If you have longer hair, you may be looking for something different to try. Putting your hair up is often fun to do and there are many ideas to choose between. Some can be tricky but as you develop a routine you will find them to become flawless. Here are seven styles to try out with your hair.

  1. A Side Fishtail Plait

This is a great look for the summer and works with many different outfits and styles, especially when you’re going on a trip to the beach. The side fishtail plait is actually relatively easy to do, but your arms may get tired half way through. The best thing to do is practice a couple of times before you go out with it.

  1. The Messy Bun

The messy bun is quick and simple. You simply put your hair up and allow parts of it to fall away. The more time you spend on it the worse it will actually look! You can add different things to your messy bun too like headbands and hair accessories, but avoid doing too much. The whole point of the style is to make it look like it was done quickly.

  1. The Side Ponytail

Make your hair look luxurious but find something extremely easy to do. The side ponytail is a great option and there are many things that you can do with it. Use a hair tie that is the same color as your natural hair color so that it is easily hidden. You could opt for adding a plait along the bottom of the hair at the back to add a little more detail.

  1. Wear Your Hair to One Side

Similar to the side ponytail, you could remove the hair bobble and just use clips and grips to put your hair to one side. This will allow you to keep your hair down and just cover one ear, while showing the other one off. This works great with asymmetrical earrings and there are some pretty clips that you can use for the back of your hair.

  1. Half-Up, Half-Down Look

It may sound like a childish option but the half-up, half-down look is a trendy summer option. You can do all sorts with it to make it stand out and look great. Create a quiff at the top of your head or add some clips and fancy ties at the back. This works really well when you also clip your fringe out of the way.

  1. Make a Quiff with Your Fringe

If you have a fringe, clip it out of the way on the top of your head. You can quickly make a quiff with it by using a couple of grips. If you still want a bit of a fringe, just clip part of it out of the way. To get the rest of the hair off the back of your neck, a simple ponytail works wonders.

  1. The Plaited Bun

Create a bun at the back of your head but leave a strand of hair out. Create a plait with that strand and wrap it around the bun. You can also buy headbands and bobbles that are plaited in the same color as your hair to create the look quickly.

So those are the seven super easy up hair dos for you to try next. Along with having fantastic looking hair, try our Kenise fragrance to tie your whole look together. You will look flawless while smelling great too. Be brave, bold, and beautiful with Kensie fragrance.

Sunglasses: From Basic Eyewear to Fashion Trend

Sunglasses or (spectacles) are said to have originated as far back as the 12th century or possibly earlier by Chinese court judges. They used flat panes of smoke colored quartz that protected the eyes from glares, but did not have corrective sight abilities like prescription lenses. There is some historical data
that states the crystals were used to hide the facial expression and/or having eye contact during interrogation of witnesses.

Other experiments in the mid-18th century have documented the use of blue or green lenses with spectacles, not necessarily called sunglasses at that time, but it was believed to have corrective abilities for specific vision impairments.

In the late 1920s, inexpensive sunglasses were introduced to America by Sam Foster and his company called Foster Grant on the beaches of the most famous East Coast summer vacation hot spot Atlantic City, NJ at the legendary Woolworth department store on the boardwalk.

Around 1926, the famous Bausch & Lomb eyewear had one of the best developments in the world, the Ray-Ban brand sunglasses. They were made for pilots during the First and Second World War period and are still available to this day. Ray-Bans have timeless form, function and style. 1936 was another year for a major development in technology for sunglasses / sun shade use. Edwin H. Land experimented using his patented Polaroid filter by covering the lenses to further enhance the ability for sunglasses to reduce glares. Later, that development carried over to cameras, camera lenses and various optical accessories.

The 1950s is when sunglasses started to play as more of a fashion statement for movie stars and musicians. Sunglasses became a cultural phenomenon and a fashion accessory in the world no matter the time, place, indoor, outdoors, day, or night. Sunglasses were raised to a whole new level in those days.

Foster Grant came forward with an ad campaign that took their sunglasses to the ultimate chic level with the popular saying “Who’s that behind those Foster Grants?” That made the company a dominant force in the world of must-have fashion eyewear in America and abroad. Today, sunglasses or shades have come a long way since its introduction and this fashion accessory trend keeps on evolving to a must-have as part of any wardrobe, anytime of the year.

Exposure to ultra-violet rays (UV) can cause short and long term ocular problems and proper protection is vital with fashion or work-related eyewear and should be taken into consideration. Beside from looking good, consumers need to be aware of what to look for when buying sunglasses no matter the price range. Remember, price is not necessarily an indicator of quality as one might think.

Now, Sunglasses are available from a multitude of designers and manufacturers. There are designer sunglasses by Prada, Oakley, Hugo Boss, Versace etc. and even some old school originators come in almost any size, color, shape and style. From a simple experiment in the early days to worldwide fashion statement, the sunglasses movement is more than just a spectacle, it’s a fashion icon. Pair your favorite pair of sunglasses with our Kensie fragrance. Look and smell fierce and sexy with Kensie.

Lipstick 101

How many tubes of lipstick do you have in your makeup drawer? If you are like me, you probably have about forty or more! I love lipsticks and I have at least one tube in every color. It was only recently, however, that I really learned exactly what words such as “matte” and “frost” (which appear at the bottom of each lipstick tube) meant. Now I know why I have so many lipsticks in my drawer! Read below to see which one is your favorite and why!

Matte – These lipsticks provide full coverage color and tend to stay on longer than any other type of lipstick. They are best in dark colors, but might make your lips feel and appear dry because they contain zero shine ingredients. Don’t worry as you can always apply lip balms before applying your lipsticks so you lips can stay hydrated all day long. You can also try to exfoliate your lips to help the matte lipstick stay on longer.

Cream Matte– This type of lipstick contains more emollients than the matte ones, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they will shine more. You may still need that lip-gloss! You’ll find that the majority of lipsticks are cream matte because they are the most versatile and they wear very easily.

Frost – Mature women should steer clear of this type of lipstick. Frost lipstick tends to be pale and metallic in appearance, which makes lips appear dry and older than they are. If you have a “frost” in your lipstick collection and you are in love with it, try pairing it with a lip-gloss that has no metallic tint to it or a solid lipstick. The gloss will tone down the harshness of the metallic pigment or the solid lipstick will help tie the whole look together.

Sheer – This type of lipstick is perfect for the “natural” look. They are light, like gloss, but have a deeper and longer lasting color than gloss. I love this type of lipstick because you don’t need a mirror to apply it! It goes on easily and doesn’t smear or transfer onto your teeth.

So… Which one of the above types of lipstick do you own the most of? Along with a great lip, you need the perfect fragrance to finish off your look. Try our Kensie fragrance to feel sexy and confident like the powerful woman you are!

How Your Purse Can Match Your Body Type

Most women cannot leave the house without bringing a purse or a handbag with them. After all, carrying a purse along is a convenient way of lugging loose change, a phone, keys, a kensie Fragrance Purse Sprayer, reading material, and all the other stuff that women cannot leave home without. Toting a purse saves women from having stuffed and bulky pockets, if they have pockets at all.

However, as convenient as a handbag is in helping us carry stuff around, what many women fail to realize is that a handbag is a fashion accessory. So, because it is a fashion accessory, it should work with the rest of the outfit.

But more importantly than that, when you choose a purse to go with your outfit, you should pick one that should match the type of body that you have. You may not be aware of it, but when someone looks at you, the first thing about your outfit that he or she might notice could be your handbag. Depending on what kind of handbag you are carrying, you may be drawing attention to the curves of your body that you may prefer to de-emphasize.

It is all about balance. Just like any piece of clothing or accessory that you have on you, your purse should make your figure appear balanced. It can be used to hide what you may want to hide and emphasize what you may want to emphasize.

One of the principles that you should be following when picking out a purse to match your outfit is that large handbags go with amply padded bodies, while small purses go with smaller bodies. If you are a petite person, the type of purse that you should be using is small. That is one of the basic principles that you should observe when choosing a handbag.

So, which type of purse should go with which type of curves? Going with the principle on size on choosing handbags, if you are short with only a slight figure, you should go for a handbag that is small and is something that you can hold close to your body. Using a big purse can be overbearing and make you look like you are drowning in a bag. A big purse against a small body makes it look as if the purse is carrying you, and not the other way around.

If you are the tall and lanky type, with not much in terms of curves, your challenge is to create the illusion of having a curvy figure and to hide the straight leanness of your body. You can achieve this by wearing a purse that is medium-sized with a long shoulder strap that will allow you to hold the purse close to your waist. Holding the purse against the waist will make it seem like you have a slender waist that gently slopes to your hips.

If your hips are wider than the rest of your frame, the handbag you need is something that will draw the eyes away from your hips and lower body. The perfect handbag for you is something with a shoulder strap that will allow the handbag to hang just above your hips. In this way, anyone who looks at you will have his or her eyes drawn to your upper body, rather than to your hips.

Girls with top-heavy figures, on the other hand, would want to call attention away from their upper bodies. If your figure is top-heavy, the handbag that you need is something that has long straps, something that you can hold close to your hips. A larger purse helps balance out a bigger chest.

If you have the perfect hourglass figure, with your bust line in proportion to your hips and with a definite waist, you are to be envied. You can lug along just about any type of purse or handbag there is. But then again, you should still be conscious about the way your purse balances out your figure. Always get a handbag that is just the right size compared to your body.

The lesson here is to keep in mind that your purse is a fashion accessory. You should make it work to balance out your figure.

First Date Success: It’s All In The Preparation

Dating can be stressful but first dates can be particularly painful and nerve wrecking. Follow these simple tips to getting ready for a date and before you know it, you’ll be breezing through first dates with your only concern being what to wear on the second date!

1. Don’t stress!

First of all, try not to stress yourself out. Tell yourself, it’s only a date and if it doesn’t work out, so what?

2. Easy on the wedding plans

You may laugh but don’t start planning your wedding! We’ve all been there; dreaming that this could be the one, that you’ll fall in love after a whirlwind romance and get married. Obviously, it’s good to be positive but just take each day as it comes in the early stages otherwise you could be heading for disappointment.

3. Listen to music

Listen to some music whilst you’re getting ready; whatever gets you in the mood for a night out and relaxes you.

4. Soak in a bath

If you have time, take a long soak in the bath with a small glass of wine to relax you. I emphasize the word “small”; you don’t want to turn up drunk or smelling of alcohol.

5. Subtle make-up

Girls, try to keep your make-up subtle. The majority of men don’t like to see make-up caked on and if you do happen to snuggle up to your date, he won’t be too impressed if you leave make-up on his collar. As a basic rule, if you’re going for smoky eyes, keep your lips natural with a lick of gloss and if you’re opting for the red lip pout then keep your eyes natural.

6. Hair to go

You don’t want a high maintenance hair style that has you constantly fixing and adjusting it every two minutes. Stick to what you know suits you and what you feel comfortable with. Also, easy on the hair products in case your date decides to run his fingers through your hair and gets them stuck!

7. What to wear?

Don’t wear anything too revealing on a first date as it could give out the wrong impression. Remember you can still look sexy without revealing all your goods; less is more!

Decide what you’re going to wear in advance so you’re not in a last minute panic with a bedroom floor covered in reject outfits. The main thing is to feel comfortable in what you’re wearing so you look relaxed; fidgeting with straps and pulling down your hemline every few minutes doesn’t look good.

Your choice of outfit will obviously depend on where you are going; if it’s a nice restaurant then you can glam it up but if it’s a lunchtime date try to dress it down accordingly.

8. Killer heels or comfy flats?

As for shoes, heels look great but only if you can walk in them so only wear shoes that you are comfortable in. Also, don’t wear new shoes in case you get blisters on the night. Again, your choice of shoes will depend on where you are going so dress for the venue.

9. Fresh breath

Don’t forget to clean your teeth and rinse with a mouthwash. It may sound obvious but so many people forget. It’s not a bad idea to keep a packet of mints or chewing gum in your bag in case you need to freshen up later.

10. Aroma, aroma!

Once you’re ready, don’t forget to squirt a bit of your favourite perfume behind the ears and on your wrist (these are the strongest pulse points). Don’t go overboard, the key is to have an aroma about you, not to overpower him with your scent. We recommend the kensie Fragrance eau de parfum, of course!

11. Arrange transport

Book a taxi or arrange for someone to give you a lift so you get to your meeting place in plenty of time. I wouldn’t advise accepting any offers to pick you up or take you home until you’ve got to know him.

12. Keep the conversation flowing

Give some thought to what you’re going to talk about. Obviously, you can’t plan it word for word but think about things you want to find out about him and questions you could ask to keep the conversation flowing. If you know a good joke, it’s always good to throw that in at some point in the evening to lighten the mood.

13. A kiss goodnight – no more!

Don’t feel pressured into going back to his place or inviting him into yours! Sometimes it’s best to end the evening with a goodnight kiss so you both leave each other wanting more and more importantly eager to arrange that second date.

14. Watch your drink

Don’t drink excessively! It’s easy to drink faster and more than you would normally because of your nerves but try and pace yourself and if you do feel yourself getting more than tipsy, drink some water.

15. Tell a friend

Tell a friend or family member where you’re going and who with and let them know when you’ve arrived home safe.

16. Have fun

Finally, don’t forget to enjoy yourself and have fun!

Fashion Yesterday and Today

We are living in a world surrounded by numerous things that are either related to the technology, the latest gadgets, or the latest fashion. Fashion today has made  significant appearance in almost all sectors of life. Fashion can be termed into two groups: One group which follows fashion trends and adopts them and the other group who creates fashion and style statements for the others to follow them. It can also be extended to another set of people who rarely have anything to do with fashion trends, but yet follow their own style to create their own unique personality; adding one more style to the fashion world.

Fashion is not just about cosmetics, make up, or the hair-do. It is a sense of creating the charisma of looking good in anything you wear. This magic is created with the right kind of accessories going along with the foot wear and the clothes, making up a pleasant picture to view. Many times, people who can’t afford to buy expensive clothes look their best in their casual wear, just because they know how to present themselves in that manner of sophistication. They create an aura around them with the confidence of looking good.

There are myriad forms of fashion trends that change with the seasons. From the early 60s and 70s to the present millennium, there has been an immense change in the forms, looks, and thoughts about fashion trends.

In India, much of fashion has been influenced by the Hindi Film Industry, popularly called Bollywood. The trends that have changed through time can be seen in the movies made during that period and how they have evolved in various forms bringing about a style that can be followed by the general public.

The clothes made in the 60s and 70s were very much influenced by the western countries with traditional touch. The Bell Bottoms, scarves and the hair style was very much prevalent in those days as an icon of style. Later in the 80s and 90s, the Fashion world sizzled like never before. There was a craving by the people to look different, stylish, modern, and this could be seen in their outlook towards their outfit, new styles of hair, makeup, accessories like purses, earrings, necklaces, matching footwear etc.

People were conscious about each and every new thing that was marketed.  They copied the styles from their Bollywood idols. Bollywood started as a platform for theatre artists and went on to become a commercial entry to the youths and aspirants for a career in the film and fashion industry. This gave the youth of today a way to emphasize on the fashion world. Art and music have become an inseparable thing of the past and so it is deeply rooted in the present as well with more features and facilities.

Today fashion, art, music, designers, dance etc all have a place in the industry and people can choose to take up anything related to this industry as their profession too. Art and music have long been implemented in the school co-curricular activities and the Higher colleges are now offering various courses for better professionalism in these areas. There are also various acting schools and the small screen i.e., the television has opened up avenues in bringing out the talent in the young minds through numerous platforms of music and dance. This is the innovation of the millennium in creating jobs and work in the fashion industry. The trends that we see are brought about by the fashion houses that have regular seasons to showcase their invention, many of which are popularized in FTV, Zee Trendz and TLC channels. We can also get a glimpse of the stylish outfits through these shows that the models present. Today, Modelling is also one of the platforms for an entry into the world of fashion.

In the yester years, fashion was constrained only to the actors in the film or those that were bold enough to carry themselves in the public that they were considered fashionable. Others just wooed them behind close doors. Slowly when times began changing, we could see the women showing off their styles in the traditional saree with an embroidered blouse and a different neck style. Then we saw the saree being draped in various styles like the Bengali style or the Gujarati style etc. The women were liberating their choice of freedom and it could be seen in their appearances with a high heeled slipper or the handbag she carried or the way she held her saree or the hair and the makeup she wore.

All these changes brought about the invention of churidhars and then the salwar kameez and finally the fashion of dresses was out in the open. Women accepted to the fact that there was nothing wrong in looking good and the men of course, loved to see the attractive side of women and fantasized the idea over their spouses.

This change in attitude of the public was very well taken by the fashionistas and a huge market was created to meet the demands of the public. Today fashion creates a new look with distinct style for a particular person and keeps oneself updated with the latest trends seen in the market. This industry is popular for its glamour as well as the mixture of Indian tradition and culture put into the designer wear that the models showcase.

People love to experiment different textures of materials used in the outfits and so the designers give them a wide collection of dresses using all kinds of clothes. There is the traditional Khadi and silk combination that is presently creating waves seen in both men’s and women’s wear. Then we have the embroidery work in zardosi, swarovski studded tops and lehangas and multi stoned work in bridal collection sarees etc. Then the most sought materials like cotton, polyster, chiffon, crush materials used in varied iconoclastic designs and styles.

Always there is a hope for the designers that the youth want a change in the fashion and are glad to keep up the trend with a fusion of Indian and western mix of fashionable wear. Also the youth of today are very practical in their sense of styling for a particular occasion. Be it a party or for a marriage or the casual look, they want the best and they believe in looking the best. And to achieve this, people go one step ahead in ensuring that they have everything in their wardrobe for any kind of occasion.

Apart from the stylish clothes and fashion that is currently popular people want to try something that goes along with their outlook. So the market started towards the very own friend of a woman- The Hand Bag or the Purse. The Fresh look of a purse with magnificent colors and its stylish features like the chain handle or the jazzy zips with numerous pockets in different shapes attracted the public like never before. And with the increasing demand of the prices of branded purses, it became a must for every woman to complete her shopping. Because of this, other accessories lined up by creating a place for themselves in the market. Just a few to quote, the earring and necklaces, the various Belts, hand bracelets and brooch, the stiletto and its wonderful embroidered, party wear slippers along with its brotherly high rugged shoes giving a perfect cowboy look etc.
Fashion has always been a very interesting topic for all women and now the trend has even challenged the men to compete for a more appealing look for a remarkable future in the world of Fashion to make it a full fledged acceptable thing for all genre of people.

Personal Appearance And Attitude

Personal appearance is usually defined by the way we groom and dress ourselves and is generally instrumental in how other people form opinions about us. It’s an obvious feature therefore that care and attention should be given to how we look in order to make the best impression. In a working environment, there is often a dress code, which is, in most cases, obligatory. To the ambitious, keen, dedicated person this dress code can present an ideal opportunity to become noticed. Smart, well fitting, well-pressed clothing will make a huge difference to how one is judged. Certain industries and professions are not very flexible concerning dress and insist on company uniforms being worn. Even then it’s possible to stand out from the crowd by giving attention to good grooming, which will always result in a smart appearance.

If there are no restrictions on the type of clothes you wear at work it is generally easier to make a good impression with your choice of clothing. Putting care and effort into deciding on the clothes you wear to work makes a statement about you. Take this opportunity to make that statement a positive one. Dress sense is a very useful attribute to have, but not everyone possesses it. If you fall into that category, follow the dress code used by your colleagues, but always endeavor to be that little bit smarter. This extra attention to detail helps to create a business like appearance.

A person’s attitude is extremely important as the wrong one can have a negative affect and spoil their chances of promotion. The wrong attitude can result in someone appearing to be offensive, giving a completely false impression. Attitude has a lot to do with confidence and can provide the wrong signals to other people. It’s not uncommon for a person’s attitude to affect their whole performance adversely in a work environment even though they may be good at their job. Recent studies have shown that these are some of the qualities that are seen as being unhelpful: failure to build a team, arrogance, unethical, not trustworthy, poor administration, no strategic thinking, over managing, tunnel vision, unwillingness to network, inflexibility, defensiveness.

Clearly there is a need for being practical, helpful, sympathetic and truthful plus being able to spot a problem and have the ability to deal with it. Your personal attitude that you carry to the job counts for a great deal in how your performance is evaluated. It is obviously beneficial to maintain a positive, constructive and helpful attitude at work. Such an attitude will help you to cope with every singe aspect in the workplace and brings its own rewards and very often leads to promotion.

If you are fortunate enough to have a company cell phone, laptop, or tablet provided, these items should be taken care of. These are not simply “perks” of the job, they are privileges that should be looked after. Looking after these things as if they were your own and had been paid for by you can only result in positive comments about your attitude. One other place where you can make a good impression is in your office or workplace. We have all seen offices and workplaces where chaos reigns. Desks littered with paper, paper trays overflowing, newspapers and magazines spread around, empty coffee cups lying around, all give the wrong signals. So do filing cabinets with the tops loaded with files and plants in dire need of a drink of water. All these points paint a picture of inefficiency.

Just imagine how much better the impression if the desks are tidy and the filing cabinets and other furniture are used for the purpose for which they were meant. It doesn’t take long to tidy up, particularly if it is done regularly. Once again, if you do it often it becomes a habit. There is a saying in business that ‘A tidy desk shows a tidy mind’. Very true!

Most of the above will be seen to be common sense and obvious to most readers, but we make no apology for emphasizing them. It is very often a lapse of common sense and neglecting the obvious which lead to bad practices, thus reflecting on the person concerned, so please, very carefully, consider these points. To conclude, remember that a positive appearance and a positive attitude result in a positive impression of you.

Another great way to make a good first impression is to smell good! Spritzing on a dash of your favorite perfume before walking out the door can be the extra boost of confidence to help in maintaining positive appearance. We recommend checking out our line of kensie Fragrance products, of course!
